Matthew Powers PhD

This was the BIG DAY. After years of work Matt graduated and went through the ceremony to receive his diploma. Actually it was an empty folder but he already has his diploma. We travelled to the northern end of the country to watch Matt receive his honor and it was definitely worth the trip. We had a great time with Matt & Seri even if it was short.
We got to meet Matt's department chair as well as some of his professors, especially his stats professor who sang his praises. Must be we have a statistician in the family. There was a pre ceremony breakfast at the Forestry Department building, which is a beautiful building, where all of the graduates from the department were milling about anxiously awaiting the big moment. The above is a picture of Matt & Seri and the ones below are of the very proud Mother with her favorite son and Matt and his also very proud father.

We had a great time with Matt & Seri, we went to a local spot for dinner after the ceremony and got to spend some time just talking and relaxing. We then went back to their apartment and continued to talk(some of us even took a short nap) and just hung out if you will. We really enjoyed our time together and would like to say "Congratulations Matt"!
